Stove snorkel

Every winter I heat the house with wood.  Fire needs Oxygen  to burn.  I need Oxygen to breath.  While the fire is burning, it is using up all my precious oxygen.  You see,  most older houses had so many leaks in the walls or windows.   Fresh oxygen would come in through the cracks, and the occupants would be fine.  My house is very airtight.  I take a lot of time making it this way.  From the lack of  Oxygen,  called “hypoxia”  I would wake up in the morning with headaches and feeling weak.  I was coughing and gasping for air.  I kept thinking, “I need to feed the fire oxygen,  just not my oxygen.”   So, as usual,  I took off to Home Depot and run my ideas past a few guys that are always there for me.  We came up with a way to get the air from outside the house.  The tricky part was to buy the right swinging door that would stop cold air coming while not in use.I guess it works well enough.  Its great when a fire is on but not so good when the stove is cold  because the little door flap thing mounted on the wall between the outside and in,  is so thin that the cold comes in.  But it is doing what I wanted it to do and I am not waking up with headaches unless of course I have been using my can chute too much.  Ha 99 cans of beer in the chute, 99 cans of beer.
